Parcel Numbering Guidelines
I. PROPERTIES WITHIN SUBDIVISIONS
The parcel number consists of an 18 digit number. The first six digits are always the range, township, section that the subdivision is carried in.
The next six digits consist of the assigned subdivision number. The last six digits are assigned using the following criteria:

When a parcel # in the subdivision must be shifted, then all parcel #'s in that subdivision must be shifted. |
II. PROPERTIES NOT IN RECORDED SUBDIVISIONS
The parcel number consists of an 18 digit number. The first six digits are always the range, township, section that the property is carried in.
The next six digits are six 0's because property is not in a recorded subdivision. The last six digits are set up to help you in locating which portion of the section that the property lies in.

When it is necessary to shift any parcel number in any part of the section, ALL parcel numbers in the section must be shifted. If the property lies in more than one quarter, assign the number using the lowest numbered quarter. |
