Portability Information

Note: If the prior home is not located in Polk County Florida, please contact the appropriate county's property appraiser's office to obtain the value/portability information.

You can find value information for Polk county homes on the parcel detail page of our web site. The most recent final tax roll values (or proposed values from mid August through October) are found in the Value Summary section (shown in Figure 1 below). Previous years can be found in the Prior year final values section (shown in Figure 2 below). Portability provides for the transfer of accumulated Save-Our-Homes benefit (up to $500,000) to a new homestead within one year and not more than two years of relinquishing the previous homestead.

Use the following steps to access the parcel detail page

1. Click on the Property Search tab.
2. Type in the property owner's name and click Search Records button.
3. Click on the parcel id of the property. This will open the parcel detail page.
